Spread slurry effectively with the Catros pro compact disc harrow

New: Factory-fitted slurry distributor

With the pro-Pack for the Catros compact disc harrow, AMAZONE offers an integrated solution for the optimised spreading of organic nutrients, such as slurry or fermentation residues during soil tillage. The Catros pro will now be offered ex-works with a Vogelsang slurry distributor fitted as standard. This means that the machine is optimally tailored to the requirements of modern, high-capacity slurry incorporation.

At the heart of the new system is the SynCult DosiMat DMX slurry distributor from Vogelsang. The system is characterised by high application rates of up to 10,000 l/min and a consistently high accuracy of distribution, regardless of the flow rate. The distributor and all the hoses down to the first row of discs are installed in the factory by AMAZONE. This ensures a fully-integrated and ready-to-use complete solution with optimally routed hoses.

The slurry is spread precisely and close to the ground just behind the first row of discs which have opened the ground so that the band of slurry is deposited directly into the open slit. The second row of discs then closes the soil again. This process ensures particularly low-loss application with minimal ammonia emissions and optimal nutrient utilisation.

The incorporation is carried out by the 510 mm coarse-serrated discs, which enable working depths between 5 and 14 cm. Thanks to the individually suspended discs, the Catros pro adapts optimally to the ground contours whilst offering maximum throughput – even with large quantities of organic matter present.

The Catros pro is ideally suited to the tough operating conditions found when manure spreading: The maintenance-free, specially sealed disc bearings and high-quality powder coating reliably protect the implement from corrosion and ensure high durability throughout its entire service life. A central lubrication system is available as an option, which automatically lubricates the hinge-points and the slurry distributor at set intervals. This significantly reduces maintenance and increases daily productivity.

The innovative Smart Frame System makes the Catros pro particularly easy to operate. It enables fully hydraulic adjustment of the working depth directly from the cab, without having to realign the frame via the top link. This allows the driver to react flexibly to changing ground conditions at any time. Additionally, the passage through the implement increases automatically as the disc carriers are rotated when working deeper. This enables a compact design combined with high operational reliability – even in organically rich, or heavy, damp, soil conditions.

AMAZONE offers a rear roller which has been specially tailored for these conditions in the shape of the SW 600 pro cage roller. In addition, all the other rollers from the portfolio are available. The mounted Catros pro models, in working widths of 6 and 7 metres, can alternatively be equipped with the double harrow. This promotes faster drying and warming of the soil. At the same time, the machine weight is reduced, which also reduces the lifting power required. Depth control is provided by the front-mounted support wheels.

For added flexibility, catch crops can be sown in the same pass using the GreenDrill mounted seeder box. Depending on the model, hopper capacities of either 200 or 500 litres are available.

The wide Catros pro product range includes three-point linkage mounted implements in working widths of 5, 6 and 7 metres. These are ideal for both trailed and self-propelled slurry tankers. The range is complemented by trailed models with centre running gear in working widths of 8 and 9 metres. They are designed specifically for high-capacity twin- and tri-axle self-propelled tankers and enable the high work rates needed during what is often a short application period.

With the new Catros pro with factory-fitted slurry distributor, AMAZONE once again underlines its commitment to offering practical, durable and highly efficient solutions for farmers and contractors.

AMAZONE 2025: obstacles overcome – expectations exceeded

Sales growth significantly above the industry average

Dreyer_Christian_Justus_d0_kw_Q2072880_d1_231027
Christian Dreyer and Dr Justus Dreyer, Joint Chairmen of the Board and owners of the AMAZONE Group.

The AMAZONE Group closed its 2025 financial year with total sales of around €850 million, representing growth of 11.4 per cent compared to the previous year. This strong result is well above the industry average and underlines the positive development against a backdrop of a generally challenging market environment. The number of employees has also risen and now stands worldwide at around 2,700. The above-average growth in several international markets was particularly encouraging. Poland, Romania and China, for example, were among the countries with particularly strong sales growth in 2025, and Ukraine also showed very good sales development despite the extremely difficult conditions.

“2025 was an extremely successful year for us and enabled us, once again, to significantly strengthen our market position. The significant increase in turnover is well above our original expectations. We are delighted with the appreciable increase in demand for our new machine concepts and the positive response to our digital solutions. This clearly demonstrates our focus on precision and sustainability across our product portfolio," say Christian Dreyer and Dr. Justus Dreyer, Joint Chairmen of the Board and owners of the AMAZONE Group.

Investments made in facilities, production and know-how

In order to secure its long-term growth trajectory, the company invested more than 5% of its turnover in research and development.

In addition, the manufacturing and logistics infrastructure continues to be strategically expanded. At the Leipzig factory, new production halls covering an area of 8,000 m² have been opened and the outdoor storage areas have been expanded by around 15,000 m². At the same time, the capacity of the photovoltaic system has been increased.

In Bramsche, the second expansion since the opening of the new factory in 2018 is about to start. An investment of around €12 million is planned for the expansion of the assembly and logistics areas, which will further increase the capacity of this factory.

New laser machines worth around €6 million were also installed in Gaste and Hude. Further investment in Gaste included a modern laser welding system, the energy-efficient updating of the production halls and the expansion of the existing photovoltaic capacity.

"With these extensive modernisation and expansion projects, we are sending a clear signal about the future of our production sites. We consciously invest in sustainable manufacturing and logistics processes, in order to secure our innovative strength in the long term whilst continuously increasing the efficiency of our production. We are focusing specifically on automation and optimisation, in order to maintain and permanently strengthen the company's added value," Christian Dreyer points out.

Strengthening the global facility structure – El  Dorado

Internationally, the AMAZONE Group strengthened its presence in North America by opening new premises in El Dorado, Kansas – one of the most important agricultural regions in the USA. The new facility covers a total area of around 3 hectares and has a 2,800 m² workshop with adjoining office areas. In future, agricultural machinery and spare parts for the entire US market will be stored and shipped from here, and final assembly work will also be carried out.

Expansion of the training facilities – AMAZONE Academy

Important measures were implemented to further develop the level of competence for sales and service partners. A further AMAZONE Academy training facility was established in Hude‑Altmoorhausen. This is a modern education and presentation facility covering an area of 2,430 m² and is specifically designed to showcase AMAZONE large-area machinery and, for example, crop protection sprayers with booms widths up to 48 metres. The close proximity to the outdoor training areas also makes it possible to integrate still further practical field work into the training sessions across all products. Farmers and contractors benefit from practical operator training courses, which are offered regularly.

Trials centre in Wambergen

Another focus is on the further development of the trials centre in Wambergen. The property, located in the immediate vicinity of the main factory in Gaste, is continuously being modernised and the scope of the field trials steadily expanded. With its strong focus on practical crop establishment trials, the location offers ideal conditions for demonstrating modern intelligent crop establishment systems and for sharing knowledge with customers and sales partners in collaboration with our partners.

Great innovative strength and a successful Agritechnica 2025

The innovative, continual development of the product range proved to be a key factor to success for AMAZONE in 2025 as well. AMAZONE presented over 30 new products at Agritechnica and received several awards for them. A DLG silver medal for the ZA‑TS 01 AutoSpread mounted spreader as a self-adjusting fertiliser spreader and for the AI-based EasyMatch fertiliser recognition system confirmed the high level of development and technological relevance of these products. The DLG also recognised the company's forward-looking approach with the Agrifuture Concept Award for SoilDetect, a soil sensor-based system. In addition, AMAZONE received two Farm Machine Awards from an international jury consisting of journalists from renowned trade journals: one for the EasyTram system for planning and creating tramlines via an application map and the other for the ZA-TS 01 with AutoSpread.

"The numerous awards we have received highlight our technological strength and demonstrate how consistently and passionately our team works on practical and forward-looking solutions. The progress we have made, particularly in precision farming applications, demonstrates our commitment to always being one step ahead in terms of technology," says Dr. Justus Dreyer.

Other product highlights for 2025 include the new generation Catros+ 12003-2TX trailed compact disc harrow with its impressive 12 metre working width. The revised running gear and folding concept, as well as a range of new equipment options, extend the range of possible applications and increase flexibility in practical operation. With AmaXact, AMAZONE has introduced a nozzle body with pulse width frequency modulation (PWFM) which brings application technology to a whole new level of performance. The new nozzle body is particularly suitable for farms with medium to large field sizes, as well as for part-area, site-specific applications and spot spraying. The new Condor 02 trailed seed drill series sets new standards in tine coulter seeding. It works reliably under the toughest conditions and impresses with its compactness, precision and high efficiency.

In the area of groundcare, the Profihopper AutoDrive autonomous mower/collector study was presented. This takes mowing, collecting and mulching to a new level. This multi-functional machine can be operated manually, remotely or completely autonomously. The BladeCut 1800 rotary mower was presented as a new product at demopark 2025 and is available as an additional option for the Profihopper 1500.

A special mention must be given to the AmaGrill, which was developed by AMAZONE trainees. They turned a winter salt spreader into a fully functional, high-tech bratwurst grill. It received the Innovation Award in the AGRILL competition for its creativity and technical implementation.

The Catros compact disc harrow turns 25

As announced at Agritechnica last November, a special anniversary will be celebrated in 2026: 25 years of the Catros – a milestone that honours the long-standing success story of the compact disc harrow under the motto "Innovation never stops". In 2001, the foundation stone was laid for one of the most successful products in the AMAZONE soil tillage portfolio. For a quarter of a century, the Catros has been continuously setting standards in technological progress and providing sustainable support to the agricultural sector in optimising its processes. Various measures and activities will accompany this anniversary over the course of the year.

Focus on artificial intelligence

The development of AI-supported systems is increasingly becoming a focus of the innovation strategy. Artificial intelligence serves as a tool for using resources more efficiently and protecting ecosystems in a sustainable manner. In its areas of expertise, AMAZONE aims to become a leader in intelligent assistance functions such as the award-winning AI-based fertiliser recognition system, EasyMatch, AI-supported analytical methods, such as the SoilDetect soil sensor system, as well as data-based optimisation processes. This  technology is expected to enable even more precise, efficient and economic crop production in the future. Furthermore, the use of AI technology is also being promoted in other areas of the company.

Expectations for 2026

"For 2026, we expect sales to remain at a stable, high level. What we have achieved is an important impetus for us to continue developing AMAZONE in a clearly focused and reliable manner going forwards. Finally, we would like to express our sincere thanks to our customers, our sales and service partners, as well as to all our employees, whose trust and cooperation have contributed significantly to the success of the company," say Christian Dreyer and Dr Justus Dreyer.

The AMAZONE Catros compact disc harrow turns 25

A story of success, innovation and passion

Twenty-five years ago, a new era in soil tillage began for AMAZONE. Shortly after the AMAZONE Group took over BBG Bodenbearbeitungsgeräte Leipzig in 1998, the foundations were laid for one of the most successful products in the AMAZONE soil tillage world. In 2001, the newly developed Catros was launched on the market giving high-performance shallow stubble cultivation. Right from the start, the innovative design set impressive standards as a compact, three-point linkage mounted implement, equipped with two rows of aggressively angled, individually suspended concave discs mounted on maintenance-free, rubber buffer blocks. To date, numerous milestones have marked the development, such as the Smart Frame System, which offers the ultimate in ease of use and optimum handling, high working speeds and area coverage, as well as efficiency and cost-effectiveness – values that are appreciated by farmers worldwide.

Highlights of the on-going development – a variety of options for every farm

Over the years, the Catros has been continuously developed to meet the increasing demands of modern agriculture and the diverse needs of farmers. As early as 2003, the range was expanded to include additional working widths and offered with a new, fully hydraulic working depth adjustment feature. In 2004, the switch was made to oil-immersed, maintenance-free disc bearings. This not only significantly reduced set-up times and maintenance costs but also permitted a sustainable increase in performance. At this time, AMAZONE also offered its first catch crop seeder box for the simultaneous application of cover crops and fine seeds. This was further developed in line with market requirements and now provides flexible use across a wide variety of AMAZONE soil tillage implements and seed drills under the name GreenDrill. The trailed versions with integrated running gear extended the product range from 2005 onwards and enable greater working widths and use with smaller tractors. In 2007, the range of rear rollers was widened to meet the individual challenges encountered in practice.

With the introduction of the Catros+ model in 2011, the disc harrow concept was significantly expanded: new disc diameters of 510 mm enabled the more intensive incorporation of organic matter. The innovative TS bogey chassis and, for the first time ever, bolt-on bearing shafts on the disc arms ensured even greater flexibility and durability. In 2013, the pro-Pack was added as an optional extra for certain models. This is a special solution for long-term use in slurry application, which was supplemented shortly afterwards with a convenient central lubrication system. From 2016 onwards, the Catros+ 12003-2TS became the new flagship of the Catros family for large farms and contractors. The 12 metre working width adapts perfectly to any uneven ground thanks to the ContourFrame with its hydraulically pre-pressurised frame sections and individually suspended discs.

The introduction in 2020 of the CatrosXL, brought a new dimension to the range of discs offered, thereby expanding the range of applications. Its 610 mm discs enable deep and intensive mixing of large amounts of organic matter, especially in very heavy and wet soil conditions.

Sustainability and efficiency – for the agriculture of tomorrow

Recent years have been dominated by technical innovations designed to make soil tillage more sustainable and efficient. Special optional equipment, such as the X-Cutter disc with a wavy profile, has been developed in response to the increasing demand for shallower soil tillage to protect the soil structure and conserve soil moisture in dry locations. AMAZONE responded to the growing importance of field hygiene with innovative leading tools such as the knife roller. This enables intensive shredding before incorporation, thereby accelerating the decomposition process. The front-mounted Crushboard provides a powerful crumbling and levelling effect which, in combination with a rear roller and a harrow is therefore ideal for seedbed preparation.

The latest developments have taken the Catros range to new heights in terms of comfort and durability. The Smart Frame System allows the working depth to be adjusted hydraulically from the cab without having to readjust the frame angle. The depth is also adjusted independently of any leading tool. The disc bearing, which has proven itself over two million times, and the HD roller bearing with metal face seal are completely maintenance-free thanks to being filled with gear oil.

At Agritechnica 2025, new standards were set once again with the introduction of the Catros+ 12003-2TX. The 12.25 metre working width with a new folding design and integrated central running gear, a wide range of disc and roller options as well as the option of an extended disc element for controlled traffic farming systems, makes the Catros the first choice for large farms and contractors. In addition, AMAZONE presented AutoLane, an innovative true-track following system which automatically compensates for drift on slopes.

Anniversary year 2026 – 25 years of the Catros

25 years of the Catros demonstrate how AMAZONE supports and optimises agriculture in the long term through continuous innovation and practical solutions. For a quarter of a century, the Catros has stood for technological progress which is consistently geared towards the demands in practice and makes soil tillage more efficient step by step. Today, AMAZONE offers the right model for every farm – from compact implements for smaller fields in working widths from 2.50 metres to wide, high-output, machines of up to 12 metres for maximum efficiency.
