Rollers

Wide roller programme – for any location, the right roller

Decide for yourself
Reconsolidation is the most important task of any roller. Owing to the many possible challenges (seed/soil conditions/lifting power of the tractor), a large number of different rollers are available to choose from. This means that the right roller can be selected for any seed and any soil. As the harrow-mounted seed drill is supported directly on the roller, the total weight is easily carried, thereby ensuring optimum working.

Closed roller
In general, closed rollers are better weight carriers than open rollers, especially on loose and light soils. Closed rollers also tend to clog less. It is precisely for this reason that the rubber rings are fitted on a full tube on the wedge ring roller and the wedge ring roller with Matrix profile. When the rings sink into the loose soil, the tube carries the weight across the entire length.

The sticking of any dirt, capping or blockages is not an issue!

Large diameter
Larger diameter packer rollers carry the load better because the weight acts on a larger support area. Rollers with a large diameter also run much more smoothly than rollers with a small diameter.. AMAZONE rollers therefore have large diameters of 500 mm to 600 mm. These advantages are particularly noticeable at higher sowing speeds as they enable exact seed placement.

Targeted reconsolidation – for better plant growth and higher yields!

Reconsolidation in strips
By reconsolidating in strips, it is possible to create an optimum soil condition which adapts to the current weather conditions and thus ensures the conditions for rapid and uniform plant emergence. This means that reconsolidation in strips is an insurance for timely cultivation. In addition, the homogeneous and well reconsolidated strip has no cleat marks. This is a decisive advantage compared to rollers with full-surface profiles, as this has an effect on the smooth running of the sowing coulters in particular.

Water always where it should be
Reconsolidating in strips just in the actual seeding zone allows the seed to be connected to the ground water found deeper without bringing the full capillary effect up to the soil surface. This ensures that the seedling is supplied with water (1) without any evaporation on the surface (2). The soil is not dried out unnecessarily. This ensures good germination, even under dry conditions.

In wet conditions, however, the unconsolidated strips between the seed rows allow water to infiltrate down deeper (3). This enables an adequate gaseous exchange (4) – vital oxygen can reach the young roots, even as they grow deeper into the soil. The best conditions for good germination and successful seedling development of the crops.

Roller programme

Not too much and not too little – localised reconsolidation

SW cage roller 520 mm ∅
The SW cage roller is a reliable, inexpensive entry-level roller with a particularly low weight. Reconsolidation takes place transverse to the direction of travel with good crumbling and an open surface structure.

  • Reconsolidation with depth control
  • Extremely lightweight entry-level roller, especially suitable for smaller tractors
  • Good crumbling with a reliable self-driving effect

PW tooth packer roller 500 / 600 mm ∅
The PW tooth packer roller has a good self-driving effect and, with its leading teeth, offers a good reconsolidation across the entire surface. The tooth packer roller is extremely versatile due to these features.

  • Complete reconsolidation over the entire soil surface
  • Runs blockage-free on sticky soils and where there is a lot of straw
  • As standard with hard metal coated, wear resistant scrapers
  • Low-mounted scrapers ensure a smooth surface even in wet soil conditions

TRW trapezium roller 500 mm / 600 mm ∅
With its trapezium rings, the TRW trapezium roller provides reconsolidation in strips. Due to its good carrying ability, the trapezium rings are prevented from sinking in too deep on light soils.

  • Good carrying capability
  • Strip-wise reconsolidation
  • Adequate fine soil
  • As standard with hard metal coated, wear resistant scrapers

KW wedge ring roller 520 mm / 580 mm ∅
The KW wedge ring roller has a wide range of applications. Its design ensures reconsolidation in strips in almost all soils under any conditions. The sticking of any dirt, capping or blockages is not an issue!

  • Universal for all soils and conditions
  • Strip-wise reconsolidation
  • Even in heavy soils, sufficient loose earth is available for optimum seed coverage
  • Very well suited to any weather, no matter whether wet or dry
  • Smooth coulter travel due to the pre-formed seed furrow

KWM wedge ring roller with Matrix tyre profile 600 mm ∅
With its Matrix tyre profile, the KWM wedge ring roller offers a particularly good self-driving effect. The roller produces more fine soil for the seedbed due to the Matrix profile.

  • Strip-wise reconsolidation
  • Matrix tyre profile for improved self-driving effect
  • Improved crumbling even under tough conditions
  • Smooth coulter travel due to the pre-formed seed furrow
  • Very well suited to any weather, no matter whether wet or dry
