The Precea-TCC concept

Master precision seeding with the Precea from AMAZONE

Ever tighter time windows for sowing require higher outputs, the right combination of operations in the field and the maximum precision in order to place the seed at exactly the right depth and at the ideal time. This ensures uniform and gapless plant emergence - especially in single-seed sowing such as maize, sunflowers, oilseed rape and other crops.

Nevertheless: extreme temperatures and drought can always threaten the crop and reduce potential yields. This can be remedied by making better use of the subsoil by encouraging the young roots to grow into deeper soil layers by targeted under-root fertilisation. Precise placement of fertiliser in the correct location, below or next to the seed, also saves on fertiliser usage, increasing and prolonging nutrient availability, since a higher soil moisture content will enable better, long-term nutrient mobilisation, especially with phosphate fertilisers. Tight nutrient balances can also be maintained, whilst, at the same time, increasing yield.

This efficient and yield-increasing use of finite resources at the ideal time is the objective when precision seeding. And this is precisely why AMAZONE developed the Precea-TCC trailed precision seeder.

The Precea-TCC concept

High output precision to meet every agronomic and economic challenge!

1. Working widths from 6 to 12 m, with row spacings of 45 to 80 cm enable high work rates at speeds of up to 15 km/h for optimum use of fixed costs.
2. The large hopper capacities for seed and fertiliser, combined with the large working width, ensures high work rates and short non-productive times for filling and transport.
3. Telescopic axle for flexible wheel track management allows the tyre tracks to be left between the seed rows.
4. Folding seed rail for safe road transport and short set-up times.
5. Precise under-root fertilisation with the FerTeC twin HD fertiliser coulter and the FertiSpot system for better root development and early crop growth, consistent yields and fertiliser savings of up to 25%.
6. PreTeC mulch sowing unit for precise, even sowing with exact singling, intelligent depth control, patented catcher roller with press roller and gentle reconsolidation.

The agronomical advantages of the Precea

More water for seed and fertiliser

The singled seeds pass through the propulsion channel into the pre-formed seed furrow, where it is reliably placed at the correct depth by the catcher roller with press wheel. The trailing V-Press rollers close the furrow and firm the soil for optimum seed/soil contact and reconsolidation. Soil closure is complete - both the seeds and under-root fertilisation have access to the groundwater. Perfect emergence conditions with the Precea. Tight operating windows with optimal sowing conditions can be utilised profitably.

With Precea comes reliable, successful sowing

The maximum theoretical yield potential of an individual plant is defined by the genetics of the seed. The actual yield potential, in turn, is determined by a variety of other factors and parameters and this, ultimately, is gradually reduced during the plant's life cycle through abiotic and biotic stress factors. What remains in terms of potential is the actual yield of the crop that can be harvested.

In order to increase yields stress factors that can inhibit growth thus must be reduced - as comprehensively and as early as possible.

The first steps are taken by ensuring better sowing: the first step is sowing at the correct time and in the best possible climatic conditions. Secondly, the precise placement of the seed at the right depth in the soil is essential to optimise the physiological developmental of the seedling. Thirdly, optimum supply of water to the seedling is very important - and therefore good reconsolidation and access to water-bearing soil layers. Furthermore, the availability of nutrients through precise under-root fertilisation is important to enable the young roots to grow, especially at depth - in order to take up water and the nutrients dissolved in it in the deeper subsoil, even during dry periods.

The high output, high precision, good reconsolidation and adapted fertilisation of the Precea do all of this - ensuring good yields and high efficiency.

Save up to 30% on fertiliser by combining SynCrop, FertiSpot, CurveControl and MultiSwitch and optimise the growing space between plants

SynCrop for seed and fertiliser
Thanks to the SynCrop software solution for cross-row synchronisation of the sowing units, seed and fertiliser can be sown in a triangular or block formation. This maximises the distance between the plants and optimises plant distribution. The availability of nutrients, daylight, water and air is improved for every plant.

The improved nutrient availability can lead to faster leaf growth and faster row closure. The bare soil in the gap is covered more quickly and weed growth is suppressed more efficiently. Maize plants at an early growth stage, in particular, can benefit to a great extent.

CurveControl
The CurveControl function is used to distribute seed and fertiliser as precisely as possible, even when cornering. Seed and the corresponding amount of fertiliser are deposited by adjusting the rotational speed of the relevant singling discs when cornering, so that the plant spacing in the inner rows is the same as the spacing in the outer rows. This avoids underdosing and overdosing of the fertiliser and leads to uniform crops.

Combined for a new level of precision
The combination of the FertiSpot fertiliser portioning system, the single row control for fertiliser application via Section Control, the precise plant distribution in the row with CurveControl plus the arrangement of the plants in a triangular or block formation via SynCrop represents a new level of accuracy in precision sowing.

The intelligent combination of FertiSpot and Section Control with single-row shut-off enables total fertiliser savings of up to 30%. The exact amount of fertiliser applied to the plant also secures the yield potential and optimises crop management by ensuring the most uniform plant development possible through optimum seedling distribution.

Due to the high fertiliser savings of up to 30%, the system is an added value from an economic point of view. Saving on fertiliser also reduces logistics costs since less fertiliser needs to be moved around the farm. This also makes work considerably easier since fewer filling operations are required per hectare.
