New AMAZONE Tyrok 400 semi-mounted reversible plough in 5 or 6 furrows

The new AMAZONE Tyrok 400 V 5+1 semi-mounted reversible plough generates an optimum furrow profile at speeds of 8 to 10 km/h due to its high robustness and state-of-the-art SpeedBlade plough body concept

AMAZONE is expanding its range of semi-mounted reversible ploughs with a smaller model, the Tyrok 400 as a 5-furrow base machine. This can be supplemented with an additional furrow, producing a compact 6-furrow semi-mounted reversible plough that impresses with very good boundary ploughing properties. The plough is available as a Vario plough with hydraulic furrow width adjustment. There is also a choice between hydraulic overload protection or the standard shear bolt. With the Tyrok 400, AMAZONE now offers a complete semi-mounted reversible plough range with a choice of 5, 6, 7, 8 or 9 furrows. With the downward expansion of the product range, a semi-mounted reversible plough can now also be offered for smaller tractors with lower lifting power. Even in very hilly regions where a lot of tractive power is required, AMAZONE customers can now purchase a small, semi-mounted reversible plough designed for large tractor classes. The main features of this plough are its higher output, even under continuous load, perfect quality of work and outstanding robustness. At the same time, the Tyrok offers a high level of comfort thanks to its very simple, reliable and precise adjustability.

The new base machine of the Tyrok is also equipped with SpeedBlade plough bodies. These plough bodies have been specially developed for use at higher working speeds. The main wear point automatically shifts further and further back towards the centre of the plough body when increasing the working speed from say 6 km/h up to 10 km/h. As a result, the main wear point of the SpeedBlade plough body is on the enlarged front shin of the mouldboard and not back on the main part of the slatted or solid mouldboard, even at these higher speeds, meaning, therefore, that only the front shin of the mouldboard needs to be replaced initially on the Tyrok when used at higher speeds. This reduces wearing metal costs enormously compared to other designs.

The points protect the wing and prevent blockages caused by plant debris, while the open frog ensures easy traction even under difficult conditions. The ©plus hardening process gives the wear parts a hard, smooth surface at the front and a tough back - providing a long service life.

Different body profiles are available depending on the type of application and soil type. The sophisticated geometry and the hardening process reduce the tractive force requirement and thus fuel consumption. For extreme conditions, there are hard-faced HD points or wings, HD pro points and wings with tungsten carbide and bolt-on interchangeable points.

The wide furrow clearance is another big plus of the SpeedBlade bodies, especially with the increasing use of wider tractor tyres.

The new AutoAdapt automatic front furrow adjustment offers a huge advantage in terms of comfort and precision. The hydraulic adjustment of the overall working width automatically adapts the front furrow precisely to the changed furrow width using the intelligent kinematics of the Tyrok. The basic adjustment of the front furrow or possible adaption is carried out hydraulically from the cab. As a result, changing soil conditions or slopes can be responded to consistently and quickly, thereby enabling perfect matching to the last furrow.

The Tyrok impresses with a sturdy rectangular profile beam (200x150x10 mm) made of high-strength steel - for a uniform working depth across the entire working width.

SmartTurn ensures rapid yet gentle turning. On the headland, the fast turning procedure is hydraulically slowed down by half just before the end. This results in a damping effect which reduces the stress on the plough components when the cylinder is retracted. There is no need to compromise on speed.

The optional hydraulic overload protection with a reducing force curve protects the body and the entire plough in very stony locations. The hydraulic pressure and thus the trigger force can be individually adjusted to optimise the overload level depending on the ground conditions.

Thanks to the substantial box section for the beam, the Tyrok maintains a uniform working depth across the entire working width

The working depth is set manual-hydraulically as standard using clips that are attached to the piston rod. Fully hydraulic working depth adjustment is also available as an option. The adjustment is made electro-hydraulically via a box in the tractor cab. The generously-dimensioned support wheel not only ensures precise depth control but also provides optimum protection against soil compaction. In addition, the standard hydro-pneumatic suspension of the support wheel ensures maximum driving comfort and safety on the road.

The Tyrok headstock, which can rotate through 180°, ensures an optimum pull line with the minimal lateral pull, and thus reduced pull force requirement. In addition, it also provides outstanding flexibility for attachment as a result of its various coupling alternatives. The Tyrok can also be optionally equipped with traction control for reduced slippage.

Versatile equipment

The Tyrok can be adapted to suit all conditions with the optional soil-engaging tools such as skimmers, trashboards, landsides or disc coulters. The Tyrok 400 is available with a catcher arm for packers for reconsolidation.
