Amatechnica 2018 proves to be a huge success with a large number of professional visitors from at home and abroad
Under the motto “GO for Innovation“, Amatechnica 2018 took place on 24th May, 2018 in front of about 6,000 farmers, agricultural contractors and sales partners from at home and abroad and proved to be a huge success. The concept of introducing machinery in operation and well as in a ring demonstration, offering presentations regarding “Agriculture 4.0“, an accompanying static machinery exhibition, factory tours, a vintage show with 100 tractors of different brands and, for the first time, an online auction with used machines coming under the hammer, fully touched the nerve of the highly professional visitors who came from 29 countries. The audience surrounded the machines in droves during the practical field demonstrations and the day was rounded off with a groovy “After Field Party” in the marquee directly adjacent to the Amazone factory in Gaste
Agritechnica innovations in practical operation
It was the numerous innovations which Amazone had introduced at Agritechnica 2017 in November that were at the focus of the event. At Amatechnica, the visitors now got the chance to examine the soil tillage and sowing technology in practical operation in the field. In addition, many other machines were demonstrated in a ring and explained in detail. The municipal technology programme was introduced within its own special exhibition.
New CombiDisc mounted compact disc harrow in operation
The new CombiDisc mounted compact disc harrow in 3 m working width was shown for the first time in operation. It showed its particular strength of seedbed preparation on light to medium soils and is ideally suited for use in combination with the conventional Cataya and the pneumatic Centaya pack top seed drills.
Digital Amatechnica innovation: the new AmaTron 4 ISOBUS terminal
The second big novelty at Amatechnica was the new AmaTron 4, a completely new, in-house developed, tablet style ISOBUS terminal from Amazone. With the 8” multi-touch colour display, the fourth generation of AmaTron offers comfortable operation of ever more complex machines and machinery combinations. As soon as a hand approaches during operation, it is detected via a proximity sensor so that the 12 button switch area appears.
Online second hand machinery auction plays out to a full marquee
As a premiere and a special highlight on the day, Amazone offered the possibility to take part in an online auction of nearly-new Amazone machinery using the professional skills of Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers. The Amatechnica visitors were extremely interested in this with the event marquee being crowded out at this point.
Innovations for agriculture 4.0
The many visitors also participated in the presentation around Agriculture 4.0. For this a specific “Precision Farming Information Centre” was established where Amazone and various partner companies introduced a vast number of Precision Farming solutions. Here the visitors got an actual idea of how they can increase yields and at the same time save on operational costs with the aid of innovative technologies and procedures and able to fulfil the demands of a sustainable farming system.
Smart Service 4.0 – Virtual Service saves technician travelling
Even for the many technology nerds present, the demonstration of Smart Service 4.0 was new and exciting. In this context, Amazone has embraced the use of virtual glasses which enables the transmission of a field of vision live from the machine back to the technician in the Amazone factory. The technician in Gaste sees exactly that what at that moment the farmer in southern Germany or Australia is seeing. In this way he can, via remote diagnosis, quickly help and without having to travel to the machine.
