DistanceControl plus: Automatic boom guidance with 4 sensors
With the aid of the automatic DistanceControl boom guidance system from Amazone, the sprayer boom follows the crop at the precise height so that the optimum distance between nozzle and the target surface is optimally main-tained. Under difficult conditions, however, it can happen that the usual Dis-tanceControl boom guidance with just one sensor on each boom half may not be sufficient. So, especially in heavily differing crop heights, such as in patchy row crops or in areas with partially lodged corn, the boom could maybe dip into the crop.
In this case the new DistanceControl plus boom guidance system with its two sensors on each boom half will help prevent this. Thanks to these additional sensors a larger crop surface is scanned and so in this way, DistanceControl plus, under the aforementioned conditions, provides improved and reliable boom guidance. Thanks to the further development of the regulating software, the optimum boom guidance is ensured, even at higher forward speeds and reduced target heights. So the current trend to travel faster and to reduce the target distance above crop to less than 50 cm, is also taken into account.
