The Groundkeeper does a superb job in nearly all climatic or vegetation conditions. Its well-proven AMAZONE mowing and scarifying system is the guarantor for well-groomed lawns. Whether the sun is shining, or the early morning dew is still on the grass – work can begin. The Groundkeeper is not bothered whether the grass is wet, exceptionally tall or even thick –it always achieves first class results. Its large rotor diameter and tolerance to foreign objects makes it the ideal tool for the extensive maintenance of any green spaces.

The combination of reversible mowing blades and sharpened wing cutting blades offers the well balanced combination of little wear and of excellent mowing and collecting performance. Cuttings are finely shredded by the blades. This reduces composting time.

• Simple changeover to mulching without conversion:
  The Groundkeeper can be used without collecting for the first pass, so that seeds and nutrients can return to the ground. A second pass a few weeks later will further process the clippings, working the important nutrients back into the soil helping to enrich it.

Tight mowing intervals without collecting, poor management of rotting leaves and the remainder of clippings or the formation of moss all serve to suffocate the lawn; they prevent water, nutrients and air from getting into the soil and reaching the roots. The AMAZONE Groundkeeper removes and collects thatch from a lawn in a single pass.

Mower with SmartCut exact cut rotor: The heart of the mower

In contrast to conventional cylinder mowers or rotary mowers, the GH and HH fine flail mowers offer a significantly improved quality of cut and a higher output yet with a substantially reduced noise level.

The wing blades on the SmartCut exact cut rotor – arranged in a chevron formation – tirelessly cut the material at the set cutting height with millimetre precision. The cuttings – grass, wild flowers, leaves or other material – are blown into the hopper by the air flow generated by paddles on the rotor.

The hopper on the GH can hold up to 3,500 litres of cuttings. This means: even less downtime, even more convenience and comfortable working.

The air flow carries the cuttings into the large collection hopper. A guide plate inside the hopper protects the front of the hood against stone impact. This prevents damage to the machine.

The mulch function can be optionally activated via a lever on the GH and GH-LT, or via the tractor hydraulics on the GH-S and GH-S Drive. The shredded cuttings remain left on the sward surface in this mode.

Convenient emptying

The high-lift discharge enables safe emptying into tall containers. The GH-LT can be emptied at a height of up to 1.8 metres, the GH-S at a height of up to 2.1 metres and the GH-S Drive at a height of up to 2.3 metres. The pivot point is positioned as far back as possible, so that tall containers can be fully filled – and comfortably from the tractor seat via the 3 buttons on the electro-hydraulic control unit. A lock on the hydraulic cylinder ensures safety when working on the rotor or collection hopper under the raised hopper. All components are easy to get at for cleaning.
