Promoting straw rotting, more even straw distribution, breaking capillarity
- The straw is cut, broken up, shredded and mixed with fine soil on the surface using the tools – creating optimum conditions for good decomposition.
- Surface mixing with fine soil generates optimal germination conditions for volunteer grain and weeds as a stale seedbed. Once the volunteer grain or weeds have emerged, they can be controlled even more effectively.
- Straw distribution after the combine harvester is improved by driving at an angle with the TopCut equipped with the straw harrow. This reduces the risk of hair-pinning and improves field emergence.
- Ultra-shallow cultivation breaks the capillarity in the top layer of the soil, thereby reducing evaporation, whilst the organic layer on the top protects the soil from erosion.
