Better longevity from the C-Mix HD shares for Cenius cultivators

C-Mix HD shares as seen from different angles.

As an addition to the C-Mix share system for Cenius cultivators, Amazone now offers the C-Mix HD coulter for use in especially arduous conditions. Thanks to the hard metal inserts in the main wear areas, the C-Mix HD share (HD meaning Heavy Duty) is characterised by a significantly higher wear resistance, resulting in the decisive benefit that the share length, and thus the working depth, are maintained. This avoids the need to constantly readjust the working depth during operation. Depending on ap-plication and soil conditions, the lifespan is approx. four times longer than that of the standard system. This results in extended intervals between share changes and re-duces the system costs accordingly.

The C-Mix HD share is a one-piece share with an integrated, scrolled guide plate and is ideally suited for use in intensive incorporation at working depths of 12 to 30 cm. When used in combination with the 350 mm C-Mix wing shares, it is also possible to use them for shallower stubble cultivation.

Thanks to the different share options, the C-Mix share system ensures a very flexible utilisation of Amazone's Cenius cultivators. So, the operational spectrum of these ma-chines ranges from shallow stubble tillage via top soil deep loosening and onto seed-bed preparation. In addition to the C-Mix HD share, there are two options for shallow soil tillage - the C-Mix duck foot share or the C-Mix wing share, for medium deep op-eration the C-Mix 100 tip with the 100 guide plate and, for deeper operation, the C-Mix 80 tip with the corresponding 80 guide plate.

New to the Amazone range: the Double-U profile roller

New to the Amazone range: the Double-U profile roller

With the DUW 580 Double-U profile roller, Amazone has extended its pro-gramme yet further with another following roller for the Certos TX heavy com-pact disc harrow and for the Cenius TX mulch cultivator. The specific feature of this roller is the 580 mm diameter U profile rings which are open and be-come filled with soil during operation. Because of this adhering soil in the U profiles, a good soil to soil contact with the soil surface to be reconsolidated results so that roller slip is reduced. Also wear in the material of the U profile rings is kept to a minimum.

An additional strength is the very good passage resulting from the modular design of the DUW 580. Especially on light to medium, heavy soils, the earth flows optimally through the rollers giving an improved levelling effect.

Despite its modular design, the Double-U profile roller features a large contact surface area and a good carrying ability due to the interlocking of the stag-gered profile ring arrangement between the front and rear roller. This ensures a good reconsolidation of the soil. Simultaneously, the staggered arrangement of the rings results in an excellent self-cleaning effect in the gaps between the rings.

If necessary, and as an option for the Double-U profile roller, Amazone offers a following harrow which provides the possibility for an additional final levelling of the soil.

New following roller with Matrix tyre profile

The special feature of this roller is the specific longitudinal and lateral profiles of the Matrix tyres

To expand the working spectrum of the wedge ring roller, Amazone has de-veloped a version with a new Matrix tyre profile. The special feature of this roller is the specific longitudinal and lateral profiles of the Matrix tyres. Whereas the longitudinal profile creates the desired strip-wise reconsolidation of the soil, the narrow cross bars on the profile provide more fine soil, resulting in optimum growing conditions.

When attached as the following roller on the rear of the Certos TX heavy com-pact disc harrow or the Cenius TX mulch cultivator, the new roller offers sev-eral advantages. So, the combination of this new profile and the 650 mm di-ameter tyres reduces the rolling resistance and thus the pulling power required in the field. The intensified adherence of the tyre profile with the soil results in an improved self-driving effect for the roller that again reduces pulling power as well as fuel consumption.

Especially on lighter soils an improved carrying capability and a higher through passage is achieved. On heavier areas, the Matrix tyre profile ensures, even under moist conditions, an improved crumbling effect. As an option for the roller, the following harrow is also available.

increased flexibility with the XTender rear tank

At the heart of the XTender is the 4,200 litre pressurised tank, split into two equal sized compartments.

With the new XTender, AMAZONE introduces a flexible tank system for use with its passive soil tillage range. The rear tank offers the possibility to simul-taneously apply fertiliser and/or seed in combination with the soil tillage im-plement. In this way, for instance, the application of a base fertiliser, a com-pensatory fertiliser for straw breakdown or a starter fertiliser alongside catch crops. Just catch crop sowing is also possible.

At the heart of the XTender is a 4,200 litre pressurised tank, split into two equal sized compartments. This way the XTender can be utilised for simultaneously applying both fertiliser and seed or two different types of fertiliser. By producing the tank via a deep-drawn process, which results in no corners, edges or weld seams, it provides a constant and even flow of the fertiliser and the seed. The hopper frame is designed for tractors up to 600 hp and is char-acterised by its favourable centre of gravity when mounted to the tractor.

Comfortable operation

The XTender's metering system is based on two electrically-driven metering units for variable application rates from 2 to 400 kg/ha and which can be ad-justed from the tractor cab. Depending on seed and fertiliser applications, dif-ferent metering cassettes are available. As special option, and as an aid to calibration, Amazone also offers the TwinTerminal 3.0 which is brought over from the seed drill range.

For operation in the field, either an AMAZONE ISOBUS terminal or the ISOBUS terminal of the tractor can be utilised. Thanks to its control via ISOBUS, also part area, site specific fertiliser applications are possible.

During passive soil tillage, the new XTender rear tank offers the possibility to simultaneously apply both fertiliser and seed or two different types of fertiliser

Fertiliser supply tines and new C-Mix 40 share

To combine the XTender with the Cenius TX cultivator from Amazone, the manufacturer offers special fertiliser supply tines which can be combined with the C-Mix 80 share, the C-Mix 100 or the new C-Mix 40 share. With the aid of an adjustable delivery plate down at the tine, the placement depth of the fertil-iser behind the share can be adjusted to 3 levels: either 100% under-root, 50% under root and 50 % on the surface or 100% near to the surface.

Amazone has developed the new C-Mix 40 share especially for soil loosening at a working depth of up to 30 cm. Compared with the C-Mix 80 share, it is characterised by its reduced pulling power requirement. At the tip, the share is equipped with a hard metal insert which reduces the longitudinal wear. In this way no readjustment of the working depth is required over the entire operational life of the share.
