Amazone was awarded the demopark silver medal for the IceTiger winter salt spreader at the 2021 demopark exhibition. The jury of technical journalists from leading industry publications awarded the prize to the new mounted spreader, which is equipped with the innovative Smart Precision System for the application of salt and brine.

A unique feature of the completely newly-developed IceTiger is the conveying system which utilises a hydraulically-driven belt floor. Thanks to the wide contact surface area, the material to be spread is continuously transported without bridging towards a chute which feeds it down onto the spreading disc. The hydraulic motor allows the speed of the floor belt to be precisely regulated, so that even extremely small quantities - down to 5 g/m² - can be applied as and when required. Working widths from 2 to 8 m are possible via the precision spreading disc. The IceTiger can therefore be perfectly tailored to the demands of the area needing to be treated. 

The Smart Precision System also offers a significant advantage in the way that the delivery point is adjusted electrically via ISOBUS. In this respect, the required degree of spread to the left or right is set comfortably and easily from the tractor seat. The spread fan is shifted by an electric actuator whilst the vehicle is travelling on the road. The electric delivery point is automatically adjusted, so that the delivery point of the material is set precisely, thereby producing the desired symmetrical or asymmetrical spread pattern. The electric delivery point adjustment works in conjunction with the automatic regulation of the spreading disc speed. This flexible adjustment of the working width allows the spread pattern to be precisely set for either spreading just one lane or two lanes at the same time. Furthermore, the triangular spread pattern can be narrowed in such a way that, for example on roundabouts, the complete road surface is optimally covered. 

Amazone offers the intuitive in-house developed, tablet-style AmaTron 4 terminal for ISOBUS control. . All functions in the work menu can be actuated via the AmaPilot+ multi-function joystick for maximum comfort.

The base unit of the IceTiger winter salt spreader has a capacity of 1,000 litres and the hopper has a favourable centre of gravity generated by the position of the 3-point linkage and the steep hopper walls. Any material residues are thus reliably avoided. But, as an option, the capacity can be expanded up to a maximum of 1,900 l by means of 300 l or 600 l extensions.

The IceTiger can be equipped with a brine applicator with a total tank capacity of 500 l for the application of FS30 pre-wetted salt as an option. Solid salt and brine are mixed together immediately upstream of the spreading disc, where a precisely adjusted supply of brine is provided via a hydraulically-driven pump with run-dry protection. The mixing of the two products results in a reduction in the salt content by approximately 23% in comparison to dry salt. 

The demopark is Europe's largest open-air exhibition for the green space maintenance industry and is located in Eisenach. Although the demopark could not take place this year due to the pandemic, around 50 innovations were submitted for the innovations competition.

Amazone now offers the IceTiger, an innovative new mounted spreader for the application of salt and brine with the highest precision and which represents a completely new development. The new conveying technology, via a belt floor, makes the application of salts with different moisture contents possible, even in very small quantities, as well as for the application of slip-preventing materials such as grit or sand. The IceTiger, when used in combination with the comfortable ISOBUS control, becomes a precision machine for winter grit spreading.

Innovation: Smart Precision System – adjustable belt floor and electric delivery point adjustment via ISOBUS

Hydraulically-driven feed of the material to be spread via the belt floor is a unique feature. Furthermore, the triangular spread pattern can be brought inwards in such a way that, for example on roundabouts, the complete road surface is covered in an optimum manner.

In the cab, Amazone offers the in-house developed, AmaTron 4 ISOBUS terminal meaning that even tractors which are not ISOBUS-compatible as standard can be retrofitted with the AmaTron 4 for winter road gritting. The tablet-style terminal features an 8” multi-touch colour display with day-night mode, a practical quick-start menu with intelligent menu navigation as well as automatic fade-in of the touch buttons via proximity sensors. All functions in the work menu can be actuated via the AmaPilot⁺ multi-function joystick or other ISOBUS multi-function joysticks for maximum comfort.

Optional: Integrated pre-wetted salt system

The IceTiger can be equipped with a brine applicator with a total tank capacity of 500 l for the application of FS30 pre-wetted salt as an option. Solid salt and brine are mixed together immediately upstream of the spreading disc, whereby the precisely adjustable supply of brine is provided via a hydraulically driven pump with dry-run protection. Smart operation with EasySet 2 – cost-effective and environmentally-friendly

The basic version of the IceTiger is controlled via the machine-specific EasySet 2 in-cab terminal. The simple, intuitive operation only requires a brief instruction period making it ideal for operations that use multiple drivers. After the required spread rate and the desired working width have been entered, the application rate is regulated automatically depending on the forward speed. The delivery point is adjusted manually when using EasySet 2. The +100% function can be used to double the spread rate on critical areas, such as on bridges or at road junctions. The calibration of working width, speed and application rate is also possible at the touch of a button. In addition, the LED work lights and the rotating beacon can be actuated via EasySet 2. A reversing camera with a view of the spread pattern as well as an internal hopper camera for monitoring the fill level are optional.

Profihopper 1250 SmartLine jetzt auch mit Stage V Motor

Zur demopark 2019 stellt Amazone den Profihopper 1250 SmartLine mit neuer Motortechnik vor. Das Modell besitzt jetzt einen 18 kW/24,5 PS starken Stage V Dieselmotor der Firma Kohler. Mit dieser umweltfreundlichen Technologie ist der Anwender für die Zukunft optimal gerüstet. Die Emissionswerte der strengen Stufe 5 erreicht das moderne Antriebsaggregat, ohne dass eine

zusätzliche Einspritzung von Diesel-Exhaust-Fluid (DEF) in der Abgasnachbehandlung erforderlich wird. Der unverändert große Dieseltank des Profihopper 1250 SmartLine mit 40 l Fassungsvolumen sorgt für lange und unterbrechungsfreie Arbeitstage. Der Selbstfahrer ist als iDrive Vorderradantrieb oder als 4WDi Allradantrieb auch für schwierigste Einsatzbedingungen erhältlich. Die kompakte Bauweise ermöglicht eine 0-Wendekreis-Lenkung und bietet damit mehr Wendigkeit und Sicherheit in jedem Gelände und am Hang. Das 1,25 m breite Frontmähwerk ist mit dem Exaktschnittrotor SmartCut mit v-förmiger Messeranordnung ausgestattet.

Hinzu kommt das robuste Förderschneckensystem PowerCompactor mit Längs- und Querschnecke. Mit einem Durchmesser von 150 mm verfügt die Längsschnecke über ein besonders hohes Fördervolumen. Das erlaubt dem Profihopper gegenüber vergleichbaren Geräten höhere Förderleistungen und Geschwindigkeiten, auch in hohem Gras. Das Mähgut wird sofort nach der Aufnahme durch den PowerCompactor verdichtet und im Fangkorb gesammelt. Durch diese Verdichtung kann in den 730 Liter großen Auffangbehälter über 1000 Liter nicht verdichtetes Mähgut gesammelt werden. Somit werden Zeitverluste wegen Behälterentleerungen sofort reduziert, und die Produktivität der Maschine und der Arbeitskraft wird parallel erhöht. Der PowerCompactor benötigt keine Luftunterstützung und arbeitet deshalb geräuscharm und weitgehend staubfrei. Mit der hydraulischen Hochkippentleerung auf 2,10 Meter ist eine gute Beladung hoher Transportfahrzeuge möglich.

Egal, ob mähen, mulchen, vertikutieren oder aufsammeln – der Profihopper 1250 SmartLine mit dem neuen Motor ist die Maschine für alle Fälle. Außerordentliche Schnitthöhen meistert der Schlegelmäher bei nahezu allen Witterungs- und Vegetationsbedingungen mit Leichtigkeit.

Für sehr hohe Flächenleistungen bietet Amazone den Profihopper 1500 SmartLine mit 1,50 m Schnittbreite und einer höheren Arbeitsgeschwindigkeit selbst unter schweren Bedingungen. Auch dieses Modell erfüllt die Abgasnorm Stage V.

Auf der demopark 2019 in Eisenach, Europas größter Freilandausstellung für Flächenpflege und kommunale Dienstleistungen, präsentiert Amazone vom 23. bis zum 25. Juni das komplette Kommunalmaschinen-Programm. Erwartet werden rund 35.000 Fachbesucher aus Kommunen, Straßenmeistereien, Garten- und Landschaftsbau sowie Lohnunternehmer und Greenkeeper. Sie können auf dem 470 m² großen Stand im Freigelände Amazone-Maschinen für das Grünflächenmanagement, Kombinationen für Landschaftsbau- und -pflege sowie Technik für den Winterdienst in Augenschein nehmen.

Zusätzlich werden Maschinen jeder Kategorie auf der knapp 1.400 m² großen Demonstrationsfläche hinter dem Messestand vorgeführt. Dazu gehören der neue Profihopper 1500 SmartLine, der bewährte Profihopper 1250 SmartLine jetzt auch mit neuer Motortechnik Stage V, der Grasshopper GHS Drive 1800 sowie die Pflanzenschutzanbauspritze UF 901.

Der Profihopper 1500 SmartLine wird dabei erstmals auf einer Kommunalmesse im Praxiseinsatz gezeigt. Als Feinschlegelmäher sorgt die Ganzjahresmaschine sowohl im kurzen als auch im langen Gras für ein ausgezeichnetes Schnittbild. Dadurch, dass in einem Arbeitsgang gemäht oder gemulcht, vertikutiert und Gras, Laub, Pferdekot oder Unrat aufgesammelt werden kann, wird wertvolle Zeit gespart. Dank der hohen Arbeitsgeschwindigkeit und einer Schnittbreite von 1,50 m sind besonders hohe Flächenleistungen selbst unter schweren Bedingungen möglich.

The new Profihopper 1500 SmartLine - capable of up to 15,000 m² per hour

The Profihopper 1500 SmartLine self-propelled mower offers a professional, high performance machine with the ultimate in output. Thanks to a working speed of up to 10 km/h and a cutting width of 1.50 m, area outputs of up to 15,000 m² per hour are possible.

More performance, more efficiency from that unique technology

From mowing and mulching to scarifying and collecting - the Profihopper 1500 SmartLine is the tool for use in any situation. As a fine flail mower, the all-season machine provides an excellent cutting quality in both short and long grass. By having the ability to mow, mulch or scarify and to collect grass, leaves, horse droppings or rubbish in just one pass, valuable time is saved. Maximum output can be achieved from the 1.50 m wide, out-front mower. In addition, it is equipped with the SmartCut exact cut rotor with a chevron-shaped blade arrangement for improved cutting and pick-up quality. The robust PowerCompactor auger conveyor system consists of both a longitudinal and a transverse auger. This enables the Profihopper to have higher conveying rates, and thus forward speeds, than comparable machines, even in long grass. The grass is compacted immediately after being picked up by the PowerCompactor system and is force-fed into the hopper. This compaction means that over 1,600 litres of uncompressed grass can be collected in the 1,100 litre collecting hopper. As a result, time wasted due to hopper emptying is immediately reduced and the productivity of the machine, and thus the work rate, is increased in parallel. The PowerCompactor system requires no air assistance and is therefore quiet and largely dust-free. Simple unloading into high-sided transport vehicles is possible by utilising the Profihopper’s hydraulic high-tip emptying at 2.50 metres.

The all year-round machine offers powerful arguments

The modern, high-performance engine technology (45.6 HP / 34kw) is today Stage 5 ready, and without the need for DEF (Diesel Exhaust Fluid). The 50 l diesel fuel tank ensures long uninterrupted working days. Ground-breaking performance at working speeds of up to 10 km/h guarantee maximum efficiency. The Profihopper 1500 SmartLine is equipped with intelligent 4WDi all-wheel drive. Via this 4WDi technology, drive to the rear wheels are only engaged when the front wheels need assistance. The intelligent all-wheel drive and electronic control of the machine provide massive fuel savings in normal operation.
