Catros+ discs – for an intensive mixing

Catros+ Scheiben

The serrated Catros+ discs with a diameter of 510 mm are characterised by their more aggressive operation and a more reliable penetration even under difficult conditions. The optimum operational range of these discs is for stubble tillage, seedbed preparation and also the incorporation of catch crop residues.

+ Working depths of 5 cm to 14 cm
+ Thickness of the discs 5 mm/disc diameter 510 mm/smooth or serrated
+ Universal use for a more intensive incorporation
+ More aggressive operation
+ Incorporation of organic fertilisers

Easy pulling for maximum acreage outputs

Amazone Scheibenegge Catros+-2TX mit Mittelfahrwerk

The basic equipment of the trailed machines Catros+-2TX with 7 m, 8 m and 9 m working width includes a centre bogey chassis.
Catros+-2TX-machines are characterised by their smooth travel because the weight of the running gear evenly rests on the disc section and the following rollers. In addition the weight of the running gear increases the even penetration of the machine into the soil. Thanks to the centre running gear Catros+-2TX-machines are very manoeuvrable. An additional benefit is their operational flexibility as numerous possible following rollers are available.
The Catros+-2TX is equipped with serrated or smooth 510 mm diameter discs and thus allows working depths from 5 to 14 cm.
The hydraulic working depth adjustment of the Catros+-2TX is standard. The stepless setting of the ram results in a twisting of the disc mounting segment, changing the working depth. So, when changing the working depth, the readjustment of the support wheels is not necessary.

Optimum ground contour following

Amazone Scheibenegge Catros+-2TX mit Mittelfahrwerk, ContourFrame

The Catros+-2TX and Catros+ 12003-2TS trailed compact disc harrows are divided into distinct sections, so that each of these sections ensures a consistent working depth and also, when working on hills or in hollows, a maintained depth is ensured. The Catros+-2TX-models each feature 2 outer sections and one centre section. The principle at the rear of the machine is that the depth guidance of the sections is carried out via the following roller whereas, at the front, the 2 outer sections on the Catros+-2TX are supported via support wheels and the centre section via the drawbar. On the Catros+ 12003-2TS the front support of all
4 sections is carried out via a support wheel on each part.
The short distance between support wheels and the roller ensures the superb contour following over hills and through hollows.

Perfect working performance

Amazone Scheibenegge Catros+-2TX mit Mittelfahrwerk

As, during operation, the weight of the centre running gear of the Catros-2TX, as well as that of the rear running gear on the Catros-2TS, impacts completely on the performance of the discs, ensuring a good penetration of the discs into the soil, even under difficult conditions.
Thanks to the standard bounce compensation of the drawbar, the Catros travels very smoothly, even under the most arduous of operational conditions.

Smooth, even ride

During operation the wings are pre-pressurised via hydraulic accumulators. The hydraulic pre-pressurising allows individual ground contour following on any of the sections, both upwards and also downwards. In this way, the machine Frame optimally follows the ground contours over the entire width and provides an even work profile over the entire working width. Thanks to the individual contour following, a smooth ride is possible even under difficult operational conditions and thus an even quality of work is guaranteed.

Fast and manoeuvrable and with plenty of potential!

Amazone Scheibenegge Catros+-2TX mit Mittelfahrwerk, Straßentransport

Both the bogey chassis and the centre running gear provide all trailed disc harrows with a high manoeuvrability and excellent driving behaviour in transport. Quickly folded to a 3 m transport width, all the trailed compact disc harrows are also exceptionally safe on the road.
When equipped with an air braking system, all trailed compact disc harrows are permitted to travel at 40 km/h.*

* Please observe country-specific traffic regulations!

Outstandingly low fuel consumption

With the Catros compact disc harrow, operational speeds of 12 km/h to 18 km/h are achieved problem-free, enabling outstandingly high work rates and reducing the operational time to a minimum. Important, however, for economic success, are both the fuel, and the wear and tear costs.

In order to determine reliable figures for these costs AMAZONE has carried out trials in collaboration with the DLG test centre in Gross-Umstadt. In all the tests, the Catros compact disc harrows proved to be extremely fuel efficient. So when stubble cultivating at a medium working depth of about 6 cm – depending on soil type and ground topography – an approximate fuel consumption of only 4 l/ha was measured. Similarly favourable were the consumption figures during seedbed preparation.

No lubrication ever again – thanks to the maintenance-free disc bearings

Amazone Kompaktscheibenegge Catros - Beste Abdichtung für Lager

With no need to lubricate the disc bearings, this results in a significantly reduced overall maintenance time. Face seals have been used for decades in road construction equipment where the rollers on the running gear of caterpillar-tracked vehicles have to be effectively sealed and continue to work absolutely reliably under the toughest of operational conditions.

Oversized disc bearings

Due to their even bigger outer diameter, the disc bearings on all Catros over 4 m, the CatrosXL and the Certos-2TX are even more robustly dimensioned. Due to the robust design, maintenance-work and running costs are again kept to a minimum and long life times are guaranteed even under the most arduous operational conditions.

Aggressively angled discs

Amazone Kompaktscheibenegge Catros Scheibenwinkel

With a cutting angle of 17° at the front and 14° to the rear, the Catros, Catros+ and CatrosXL discs are mounted aggressively ensuring the uninterrupted transfer of the soil-straw mixture from the first to the second row of discs resulting in a first class mixing of soil and plant material. Compared with flat angled discs, the discharge angle of the more aggressive disc arrangement is noticeably smaller. In this way the moved soil/straw mixture is redeposited again on the soil surface well ahead of the following roller.
The large discs on the Certos-2TX, with their increased angle of attack of 22° in the front row, are  articularly aggressively mounted so that, even on heavy soils, they leave an excellent working quality with an increase
in the undercut.

Perfect contour following – individually suspended discs

Catros Scheibenaufhängung

On all models, whether a Catros, Catros+, CatrosXL or Certos, each individual disc is suspended from the frame on elastic sprung rubber elements which is much better than machines with rigid disc suspension. Every concave disc can individually follow the ground contours, so that not only are the tracks filled up, but they are actually worked up, ensuring an evenly shallow soil tillage operation even with prevailing undulations on the soil surface. At the same time, by suspending each individual disc it allows the optimum passage of large amounts of organic matter in comparison to machines where the discs are mounted in pairs.

Safe and absolutely maintenance free

Sicher und absolut wartungsfrei

The sprung rubber mountings allow for the optimum adaptation of the concave discs to the soil surface. The large diameter of the rubber buffer blocks gives a high spring pressure to prevent impact.
