Quality and reliability

• Coulter discs made from high grade Boron steel • Shallow angle of inclination for reduced soil movement • Wear resistant polyurethane disc acts as an adjustable depth guidance roller and for cleaning The large clearance between the front and rear rows of coulters ensures a blockage-free sowing operation, even where large amounts of straw prevail. With only one cutting disc per coulter, AMAZONE ensures – even at a 12.5 cm row spacing and mulch sowing at high speeds – a blockage-free material passage in between the coulters.

Coulter pressure adjustment

As all the coulters are suspended in a parallel guided frame, a central and stepless adjustment of the coulter pressure is possible. Hydraulic coulter pressure adjustment is available as an option, enabling the convenient matching of the coulter pressure from the tractor cab. With the hydraulic coulter lift, the coulters can be raised by up to 145 mm so that any pre-working of the headlands is possible without needing to run the coulters in the soil. Especially for operation in field corners the coulter lift is a useful option. It is possible, for instance, in the area behind the tractor wheels, to increase the coulter pressure by another 6 kg using additional tensioning springs.

RoTeC Control coulter – The proven single disc coulter

RoTeC Control coulters are maintenance-free and work extremely well yet with little wear and tear. Even where large amounts of straw and trash prevail they won’t block up. The combination of the sowing disc on the one side and the furrow former on the other create the perfect seed furrow and optimum seed control. The elastic polyurethane disc also helps to create the seed furrow, accurately controls the pre-set sowing depth and prevents soil from sticking to the sowing discs. (1) For exceptionally deep sowing, the depth guidance disc can be easily removed. (2) RoTeC Control coulter with Control 10 depth guidance disc with 10 mm wide contact surface.

Harrow tines on the TwinTeC coulter

As an option, every TwinTeC coulter can be equipped with a directly suspended harrow. Due to its profile, a shorter space and less lift capacity is required. Even in undulating ground, depth guidance is carried out without any problem thanks to the suspended harrow bracket. In addition, every harrow can be adjusted as required. To compensate for wear and tear the harrow can be readjusted in 7 steps down to a length of 150 mm. Also the intensity of the harrow is settable via the repositioning of a pin in three steps (30°, 45° and 60°). Due to the close proximity of the harrow, it is possible to sow right up to the field margins.

Roller harrow for RoTeC Control coulters

The Roller harrow* additionally consolidates the soil above the seed furrow resulting in the optimum germination conditions. This is recommended especially for light, dry soils when sowing spring crops or rape. An undulating surface profile that reduces erosion is the result. The Roller harrow, adjustable separately from the coulter pressure, can follow the ground contours over a range of ±100 mm. *(only for Cataya 3000 Super)

Exact following harrow for RoTeC Control and TwinTeC coulters

The Exact following harrow ensures the optimum coverage of the open seed furrows, perfect levelling and performs, even with large amounts of straw, blockage-free. With its individually pivoting harrow elements, the Exact harrow follows the undulations of the soil perfectly, ensuring an even seed coverage. The harrow pressure is adjusted centrally via a lever. Alternatively, and as an option, hydraulic harrow pressure adjustment is available which, in conjunction with the hydraulic coulter pressure adjustment, works together automatically. As an option, hydraulic harrow lift can also be specified.

Depth guidance

Behind every TwinTeC coulter, a parallel-guided depth guidance roller provides the exact depth control so that the sowing depth of every individual TwinTeC coulter is maintained. Thanks to the large coulter clearance of 195 mm and the connection to the depth guidance roller via the top guided roller carrier, sufficient space remains so that blockage-free operation is maintained. Due to the sowing discs’ low angle of attack of 10°, a superb passage of material is ensured even at high forward speeds and in copious amounts of crop residues. The optionally available scraper system for the depth guidance roller provides a reliable sowing depth – even under moist and sticky conditions.

TL 3001 deep loosener

The compact TL deep loosener, with its 4 tines, makes it possible to loosen the soil down to a depth of 25 cm. With this system, AMAZONE offer the option of plough-less cultivation, even where a high level of straw prevails. Plough-less cultivation in one pass prevents soil compaction in the sowing horizon. • As standard, 30 cm wing shares are used but, as an option, a wider loosening 60 cm wing share and a side plate extension are available.

TwinTeC coulter – The double disc coulter for Cataya Super

Clean and precise seed placement: From choice, the Cataya Super harrow-mounted seed drill can also be equipped with the TwinTeC double disc coulter. The TwinTeC coulter system ensures a clean seed placement. With a coulter pressure of up to 60 kg/coulter, the coulter travels very smoothly through the soil and precisely places the seed at the optimum depth. Proven and reliable: And thanks to the way that the coulters are mounted onto the contour-following coulter rail, central adjustment of the coulter pressure is possible. Since the sowing depth is maintained by means of the depth guidance rollers, the sowing depth of all the coulters can be adjusted centrally from 0 to 6 cm independently of the coulter pressure. From choice, a row spacing of either 12.5 cm or 15 cm is available. The TwinTeC double disc coulter is completely maintenance-free and thus fulfils the highest of demands.

The proven single disc coulter: Proven 1,500,000 times over!

The very even and exactly controlled depth guidance of the RoTeC Control coulter is achieved via the Control 10 depth guidance disc, with a contact surface of 10 mm, or the Control 25 depth guidance option with a contact surface of 25 mm. As this depth guidance is fitted on the side of the coulter, this principle operates with more accuracy than coulter systems with a following, rigidly attached separate depth guidance roller. The depth guidance discs or rollers provide the basic setting of the sowing depth easily and comfortably via the coulter pressure. If necessary a notched quadrant allows for the readjustment of the sowing coulter in 3 steps. RoTeC Control coulters operate at a coulter pressure of up to 35 kg. In this case the actual effective coulter pressure is comparatively higher with AMAZONE, because the pressure is not distributed between the coulter and the following press roller, but acts solely on the coulter. When sowing rape, or early sowing in dry conditions, working with less coulter pressure is possible without any problem. Row spacings of 12.5 cm and 15 cm can be chosen.

Sowing insurance!

1. In severe drought – principle of a water pump: The re-consolidated strips provide soil contact directly in the seed furrow. In this way, capillary water reaches the seedling even in dry weather. The re-consolidation in strips ensures that your soil works as a water pump. 2. In much wetness – principle of drainage: The loose soil absorbs any rain well and stores it. Rain from heavy downpours simply soaks into the unrolled, loose areas and so soil erosion is prevented. In this case, your soil works like a drain. Even at heavy, wet soils there is enough loose soil available between the rows to cover the seed with loose soil. 3. Gaseous exchange – the lungs principle: The loose soil also enables gases to be exchanged, so that the roots can breathe.

Perfect – for the optimum soil contour following

Thanks to the disc suspension in pairs via elastic rubber sprung elements on the frame, the each double set of discs are able to follow the ground contours individually. In this way, a very consistent, shallow soil tillage can be carried out even with undulations in the soil surface. The suspension of the discs at the same time allows the optimum through passage of large amounts of organic matter.
