New sprayer factory in Bramsche opens its doors

On November 13th, 2018, about a year after building commenced, the Amazone Group officially inaugurated its new sprayer factory in the Schleptrup industrial area near Bramsche. The new building includes assembly, dispatch and storage halls across a floor area of 16,000 m² as well as an administration building. Total investment in the project at the new site so far amounts to around 16 million Euros. Last week saw the new factory now fully equipped and the final assembly of the UX trailed sprayers has already been transferred to the new location. For the assembly of this model, in working widths of up to 40 m, the new assembly halls, which were built with these measurements in mind, provide ample space and thus ideal working conditions. In the course of the next year, the number of employees on the production line, in the pre-assembly, in logistics and in administration will increase to about 150.

Logistically the ideal site - beside the A1 motorway
The new site is ideally located directly on the Bramsche exit of the BAB A1 north of Osnabrück; a distance of only 25 km by road from head office in Hasbergen-Gaste. The Amazone site covers 24 hectares in total and, in this first step, five hectares have now been built on leaving plenty of scope for further development.

Amazone Directors, Christian Dreyer and Dr. Justus Dreyer, thanked the town of Bramsche and the building companies involved for the loyal cooperation from the planning phase to completion. “Together we managed to very quickly realise, after just two years in the planning and one year build time, for what is in the Amazone growth strategy, a very important project with regard to the new factory in Bramsche.”

Optimised for the multi-variant production of large machinery
At the inauguration, the directors introduced the factory concept to the guests: “The new facility is a factory of short distances and has been designed with multi-variant large machinery production in mind. In this way, it provides the production line with an optimum arrangement of the function areas: goods in, warehousing, assembly, machine inspection with test stand and quality control check and the dispatch department. We are glad that, in this way, in addition to our factories in Gaste and Leeden, we can expand our local production capacities and yet, at the same time, improve the overall optimisation of the logistics across the three factories.”

Christian Dreyer pointed out that, with the move of the final assembly for UX trailed sprayers, space has now been made available in the other factories so that the reorganisation of production is possible across the other segments, “We can utilise this additional capacity to further optimise the internal distribution of tasks between the individual factories and thus our production and logistic structure in total“, commented Christian Dreyer.

Increasing demand worldwide for Amazone machinery
Furthermore, Amazone predict a positive prospect for Amazone machines: “The increasing demand worldwide for our equipment gives us the chance to grow further. However, we must be able to fulfil this demand quickly and at the highest quality. For this the new factory in Bramsche as well as the optimisation of logistics in the factories in Leeden and at the headquarters in Gaste are decisive steps”, Dreyer emphasised.
