More than 5,000 professional visitors as guests of Amazone
“Amatechnica 2012” field day was the motto on 10th May at Amazonen-Werke in Hasbergen-Gaste. For more than 5,000 farmers and agricultural contractors, who came from all over Germany and its neighbouring countries, the organisers had set up an interesting and varied programme across an area of approximately 10 hectares and all within walking distance of the Amazone factory.
The objective of the event, under the theme “More field intelligence“, was to demonstrate to the professional visitors present how to achieve increased yields via more precision and through the use of innovative technologies and systems but, at the same time, see savings in operational costs and yet still fulfil sustainable farming. Although, above all, the machine presentations and practical field demonstrations were the focus of interest, the broad spectrum of the technology introduced included machinery built to new dimensions, such as a 12,000 litre crop protection sprayer plus many new developments from the electronics and control technology sectors. Here, amongst other ideas, Amazone presented its new Amatron 3 and Amapad ISOBUS operator terminals, that experts consider to be the trend setting technology.
Between the demonstrations, the programme moved indoors to the Amazone Active Centre. Here, on offer, were several seminars based also around the topic ”More field intelligence“ and alongside this in the Active Centre, the official award to Amazone as “Selected location 2012“ in the competition “365 locations in the country of ideas“ (see special report) was made.
Many additional items in the programme rounded off the event. Whether informative tours across the trial fields, through the Amazone factory and the fertiliser test laboratory or helicopter round flights above Hasbergen-Gaste, bull riding and vintage tractors, bouncy castle or archery – there was everything and anything there to make sure that actually every visitor went away highly entertained. The guests had ample chance to enter into personal discussions at the evening get-together in the heated marquee where the “Country Girls” band ensured a great mood until late into the evening.
