Investment offers an opportunity in economically sensitive times

The reliable and quick supply of spare parts is an increasingly important factor to ensure success of a global manufacturer of agricultural and municipal machinery in the market. This is why Amazone has invested around 1 mio. Euros in its central spare parts supply at Amazone's Worldwide Parts Centre in Hasbergen-Gaste. The official opening of the extension took place on 21st August, 2009.
The extension, which was built in record time, has enabled Amazone to double its central stores capacity. In the new store shelving systems  4,000 additional wire mesh crates have been installed and Amazone used the opportunity to completely restructure the entire stores organisation as well. With this new building not only has Amazone optimised the storage quality and availability of spare parts but also the handling and delivery of orders, because the space for the incoming goods and the packing and delivery area has also increased to nearly 500 m² and thus has been almost doubled.

"With the extension to our Amazone Worldwide Parts Centre we will meet the increasing internationalisation of our sales markets", emphasised Amazone directors Christian Dreyer and Dr. Justus Dreyer on the occasion of the inauguration. "Thanks to this important investment in spare parts supply we can further improve our customer service and at the same time promote our product programme and the development of new markets."

The location, Hasbergen-Gaste near Osnabrück and alongside the Amazone headquarters, lies approximately at the geographical, and thus also the logistical centre of Europe making the ideal starting point for a central spare parts supply as in this region numerous global logistic companies operate. The Worldwide Parts Centre means Amazone can provide its customers, off the shelf, with 25,000 different spare parts and wearing metal parts. More than 98 % of all parts ordered are available immediately and can be despatched by express delivery within 24 hours to customers in German and Europe.

In 2008 Amazone managed to increase its spare parts turnover by about 37 % compared with the previous year. This means that now spare parts turnover amounts to approx. 10 % of the total turnover of the Amazone Group with 75 % of parts going to export markets. Running parallel to the central Amazone Worldwide Parts Centre local distribution depots and importers with interconnected stores bases ensure the spare parts supply in the relevant markets. In Germany Amazone runs 5 own branch offices from where the most frequent spare parts and wearing parts are stored and delivered to the end users.

For ordering spare parts, Amazone has offered its customers for several years the most modern possibilities in technology. The Amazone spare parts portal at enables customers to look up the desired parts directly on the internet and to easily identify the relevant part numbers. All the spare parts lists are always the most up to date version possible and the availability of parts can be checked immediately on-line. In conjunction with its local sales partners, customers can then order on Amazone and already, about 90 % of all orders are carried out online via the internet, the remainder via telefax, e-mail or phone.

Amazone regards the current sensitive economical situation as a chance to further develop products and services, especially in spare parts distribution in order to be able to adequately fulfil customers' expectations.
